Trusting the process

Setting Goals for today and beyond..

Many of us think about setting goals for ourselves. It can be exciting to imagine all the things we want to accomplish, but it's important to approach goal setting in a mindful way.

First, it's important to understand that setting goals is not just about coming up with a list of things you want to achieve. It's also about creating a plan for how you will accomplish those goals and staying committed to that plan. Organising your time should be a top priority.

One way to approach goal setting is to focus on the process rather than the outcome. This means that instead of simply setting a goal to lose weight, for example, you might set a goal to exercise for a certain number of days each week or to fast till midday 3 days a week. By focusing on the steps you will take to achieve your goal, you are more likely to stay motivated and on track.

Mindfulness can also be a helpful tool when it comes to goal setting. This means being present in the moment and paying attention to your thoughts and actions. By being mindful, you can avoid getting caught up in negative thought patterns that might derail your progress.

It's also important to remember that goals are not set in stone. They can and should be adjusted as needed. Use a journal to keep track of long and midterm goals, as well as write your to-do list each morning. If you find that a goal is not realistic or not in line with your values, it's okay to change it. The important thing is to stay focused on what you want to achieve and to keep moving forward. A flexible but determined mindset works best.

Goal setting is an important part of our life. By focusing on the process and being mindful, you can set goals that are realistic and achievable. Write about your values and set goals around them and remember, it's okay to adjust your goals as needed – the important thing, is to enjoy the journey.
